Wii Promote: Emergancy Mayhem

Fasten your seat belts, turn on your sirens, and put the peddle to the meddle as hell has been unleashed. Monkeys gone bad, zoo animals are escaping, people chocking on flies, and bombs are ticking. This is Emergency Mayhem as you got to be the police, the fire department, and Ambulance personnel in a city gone wild. It's up to you to save Crisis city from it's disasters.

The game-play is like Crazy Taxi were you have to race around the city in a time limit and complete missions in a Wario Ware style were solving the problem is a short mini-game. So a building might be on fire and you will have a less then a minute to spray water over the fire, using the Wiimote to make the motions. You can expect these mini-games to be hectic but fun at the same time. There are over 30 mini-games that you will play during Carrier mode and these can be played with four players in party mode. If you do not like racing around the city and want to goof of and take your time then there is exploration mode with all eight districts open to play all of the missions. You can go against another player in a competition to solve the most disasters first.

If think this game will be a great addition to the Wii's library of games. The looks very accessible to both casual and hardcore gamers and good for both long and short sessions. don't be turned off by the graphics in the screen shots as the video is a much truer representation of what the game looks like and high smooth it runs. I would recommend people to buy this game and you can get it for $30.

Wii Promote: WWII Aces

It's been a while and I apologize for my laziness, between my marine biology test and school work in general, i didn't have much of a urge to update. Today I'm going to be doing a crazy update. I'm going to promote WWII Aces, a game which very little have played yet as usual, mainstream media as dismissed it. I originally also dismissed it because I read on GameFAQs that it was a card game. What a idiot I was to learn that it was actually a Aerial combat game.

In this game you are going to fly fighters, bombers, fighter bombers, and even experimental planes in 72 real battles. These missions are huge but don't expect vast beautifull terrain, as that usually is not a focus of realistic flight game developers. Besides, these guys are an independent, small company so be nice to them on the graphics. This would be different if this was a big time company. Anyway, these battles will be played from the Royal Air Force, the Soviet Air Force, and the Luftwaffe in a variety of real airplanes that were used and built in World War Two. Their are three types of controls that you can chose from that are usable. One of them is holding the Wiimote Sideways while another control scheme involves using both the Wiimote and the Nunchuck. I don't know anything about the third scheme but these two should satisfy both casual and hardcore gamers. Besides, from an old video, the controls seem fine so you should not worry too much. Besides single player, you have two player co-op were you can play all the single player missions together, fight each other in VS, or see who can try to shoot down the most enemies in Time Attack. So you got plenty you of things to do in this game.

This is all I know about the game since nobody has bothered to cover it. That makes it harder to decide if you should want to get this game but you are cautious about wasting money. With 72 missions, three different air forces, co-op, and two other multiplayer modes; this game seems to have plenty of content to keep you occupied even if its not the greatest. So you guys will really have to make judgement here of if you want to buy it. If anybody does, please post comments about the game and how you feel about it. The game cost $40

WiiPromote: Octomania

Watch out guys, Octopus are invading the land of Lonronpia and it is all the fault of Kari, the hungry magician. Now you and her have got to fry some octopus to bring stability back to the land in this Puzzle game. That is what you will be doing in this cute but deceptively challenging game. In the game Octopi will be coming down your half of the screen and it is your job to place the same colored octopi on a numbered grill to fry them. Ranking up combo's on a frying grill and using your character's special abilities will help you save the day.You can use the pointer function of the Wiimote to move the octopi or you can use the Wiimote sideways if your hand is not steady.

The game has five modes of difficulty with six game modes to play. You can play arcade mode and also compete against another player, you can practice with Training, play story mode and have a good time with a teammate too if you want, play octobattle with four players, play endless with a friend and try to survive as long as possible, or play online with a friend around the world. This game looks like a fun game that any type of gamer could get in to with its easy controls and variety of difficulties. To me this game looks like a classic and I think it's worth anybodies purchase for generations to come. The game costs $20 and and is published by Conspiracy Entertainment.

Wii Promote: Baroque

Disclaimer: I do not actually own any of these games yet, All this info is based on what i have read and seen.

Alright Wii owners, Grab all the gear you got, put on your thinking caps and jump on in because you will need it when playing Baroque. I'll try to avoid spoilers as much as possible but it is hard not to spoil the game but the basic info might not be enough to get you interested. Baroque takes place in a world were an event called the blaze happened and people survived by retreating into there minds which results in them having a twisted form. You play amnesic boy who is told by the Arch-Angel to go to the bottom of the Nero tower. Yes, thats all you are told at the beginning. However, things are far from simple as you can't just go straight to the bottom unless you want to want to continue repeating the cycle. Yes, I said repeating the cycle; in other words, think about the excellent The legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask. Based o the trailers and the website info, you will need to heal the residents and recover you past before you will be able to truly beat the game, just like Majora's Mask. That's all I can say about the story as I managed to spoil one plot point that's at the beginning of the game. Hope you are interested in the story now.

This game is a dungeon crawler so a lot of the game will be spent exploring the Nero tower. This may sound boring but the floors are randomized and the tower grows larger as you complete events. Combat is like a strategic hack and slash were you can't mash a bunch of button, hoping to win nor can you carelessly take you items for granted as they will be huge life savers. This game will be very hard as if you die, you will go back to level one and lose all your items unless you manage to find a place to stash some gear. Yes, you will need to do this unless you like your games slapping you in the face for your own stupidity an cockiness. Also you can't stand around and grind your way up to higher levels as you have a vitality meter that slowly drains and if it reaches zero, then your health will slowly drain so you can't stand around lolligagging. This sounds like it may suck but keeps the game-play moving and don't worry, you can restore you vitality by killing enemies and permanently upgrade you health and vitality with special items.

Based on what I have read, it will be a hard game. The game will have a complicated story that is not handed to you on a golden platter but will be worth learning about. If you are looking for a good rpg to keep you busy on your Wii then I say this will be a good game for you. You can get this game on April 4, 2008 for $40 and can still be pre-ordered.

Wii Promote: Obscure: The Aftermath

Are you guys dieing{hopefully not literally} for another quality survival-horror for your Nintendo Wii? If so then here is your prescription for fun, Obscure:The Aftermath. For those who may not be aware, the Obscure series are based on the cheesy teen horror movie atmosphere were teenagers act and say stupid things. This may put off someone who is into serious dialog but the storyline is surprisingly good and really pulls you into a seriously grim atmosphere. It shows a lot of potential in what the developer, Hydravision, can do. This game is the sequel to the first one but you do not need to play it to fully understand what is going on.

The game is a co-operative game were a second player can join in at any point and help out. This adds fun replay value as two of you have to work together in order to survive. Not many horror games have this feature. The camera is from a flexible angle a lot of times were you can move it around a bit but there are some moments were you can have full control. For a lot of combat, you will be using melee weapons and some projectiles. You can auto target your enemies and also manual fight them if you need to. Besides combat, you will be solving plenty of puzzles that require some thought and exploration to solve. From what I heard, the game is not very long, but if you take it slow and explore the game then it will surely last much longer, especially if you have not memorized the game yet. For replay value, you can play the entire game with a friend or you can set limits on what you use to make the game more challenging.

This game is not from a big name company so it will have some flaws, but the developers have done quite a good job never the less. The title will cost $30 so you are getting a good deal on a quality game and there is no need to wait until the sequel comes out so you can get into it.. I recommend anyone who is interested in the game, to buy it. That way, if it sells well enough, there will be a sequel that will be even better than this one. Overall, it's an good game despite what the mainstream press may feel about it and it deserves to be played by all survival-horror fans.

Wii Promote: MiniCopter: Adventure Flight

If you have never herd of this game before then to not feel ashamed as never have I. Much of the mainstream media as ignored this title, so it makes it very hard to understand what the game is. This game will not sell well if nobody here's about the wonderful things about it and it's going to come out tomorrow. I did some hard research but it turns out it does have a small English audience. The game MiniCopter: Adventure Flight, also well known in Japan as Puchi Copter Wii Adventure Flight, is a series of games that are realistic simulations of flying except with remote controlled helicopters. That's right, miniature remote controlled helicopters in a realistic simulation game. The game is not as realistic a Microsoft Flight simulator xxxx but has more fun that everyone can get into.

You game is controlled using ether the Wiimote horizontally or vertically, pointer control, or by using the classic controller which possible means the GameCube controller will work too. It may not be a graphically impressive game but they do a decent job and work well with the atmosphere of the game. The game-play is about completing 42 missions in 7 unique environments to get a high score and to earn rewards. The game-play is probably not meant to be a big hardcore game but a game that is relaxing, fun, and accessible to everyone. As you complete missions, you gain the ability to unlock more helicopters, customize both the stats, and the looks of your helicopter. Based on reading a review of a previous game, I believe it might have a free fly mode and a adventure mode were you collect hidden stars to unlock new area's and preform the missions. This game might also have a challenge mode were you complete challenges and get rated based on how well you flew. This game does have an off line multi-player mode were you race for rings against each other. From what I understand based on a previous game, this will be hard so it should last you a decent amount of hours.

I think that based on the info that I have gather about the series, I think this will be a fun game that will be worth having based on it's uniqueness and it accesiblity that allows anyone to play. This game would also be could for a casual gamer as well as an hardcore gamer. I hope it does promote some awareness of the game and that it sells decently enough.

Brief review

Wii Sharing the Brawl

I back again guys from a two week absence. I spent spring break relaxing and getting things that i need to do done. As for the school week, my abnormal psychology class was putting a drain on my happiness which means it hard for me to focus on homework, working on the site, or even playing some games. I dropped class and I'm feeling a lot better to be able to post.

As you may all be aware, for those who own Super Smash Brothers Brawl or not, that it is a pain when it comes to sharing stages or images with the entire world. Nintendo, at least, started by allowing you to share with people whose friendcodes you have but not good enough when it comes to the world. Various people realize this problem and have come up with some solutions to fix this. IGN, SmashBoards, and SmashLevels have created websites were you can upload and download custom made levels, from around the world. All three are professionally made though I prefer SmashLevels as it was created for the purpose of sharing levels and that it is made by the users and not a big company. Some people have made there own image converter programs that convert the bin files into Jpegs. SSBB fans are not done hacking the game as there is plenty for them to do. So have fun everyone and keep on smashing.

Wii Importing baby!

I have been busy with writing papers and preparing for tests all this week but I am finally done. I hope it was not hard on you as it was hard on me as I have not played a game, watched anime, or even scourer Wii websites. To celebrate this return, I shall post something that will make all of us cry. Datel released the Freeloader for the Wii!.Whoo hooo! The Datel freeloader works for Wii games for the time being so we don't know it that will change anytime soon but there freeloader disk should be able to get around update issues. You will need to buy a freeloader that works for your regional console so it is not a universal disk. Rather then me try to explain the process, I will let their box art do it since it is already simplified as it is. Enjoy!

Wii Across the ocean..... cheaply

There might be times were you travel to Europe or North America for a vacation and you want to show your Wii to your friends and family there but your Nintendo Wii does not support the region you are going to. Now you could buy a n expensive video converter which cost about as much as a Wii or more or you could mod your Wii and void your Warranty. An possibility to access updates. There is a cheap solution that cost less then $50 and you will at least be able to play your Wii across the ocean. It is the MayFlash PAL- NSTC converter or NSTC-PAL converter. I do not own one but from all the reviews that I have read, it works and the image quality is tolerable in color but better in black and white. You should not be surprised to hear that when seeing such a cheap product. It does it's job and and it's not meant to be a long term use product. For that you should pick up an more expensive converter.

Wii Watch You!!

For those who have old TV's and not a lot of money, buying a new TV is probably not an option if you want to move beyond S-video, or going HD. Sometimes you may want to record your exploits in better quality. The solution to this problem is a VGA box A VGA box is an device that acts as a transmitter between the monitor and the video cables. Buying VGA cables separately for each separate device, especially game consoles, is going to be expensive in the long run. The VGA box saves you money by converting any AV cables data to your monitor. Of course that sounds like it will be expensive and some are but there are VGA boxes that cost less then a hundred dollars and work excellent. The hard part is choosing one that will fit your needs. Not all of them accept S-video and composite and not all support Component or have multiple inputs. I did some research and found some good ones that may suit your needs.

XCM 1080p VGA box
http://www.totalconsole.com/servlet/the-207/XCM-1080p-VGA-box/Detail
Cost $70 but it comes with component cables for Wii, PS3, Xbox/360. Has speaker option. Quite small and does not take up space. Works great

XB/GC/PS2 3 in 1 VGA BOX
Costs $30 yet it can use composite and S-Video but not component. It has good quality but you may see a few lines on the screen and it does not work with the slim PS2.

Neoya X2VGA 2
Costs $60. It supports two component inputs and has a special 480i mode for it. It does not come with component cables and it does not support audio or S-Video {S-Video is basically composite with an additional cable}. However it works very well. You will need to buy a RCA Y-adapter.
which may cost $5.

Now if you don't have Component Cables or you have not interest in a VGA box then you could by these XCM Multi-Console Component cable Version .3 for $35 and get component video for the Wii, Xbox/360, PSP, PS2/3. The quality is great and it's a great deal compared to buying them separately.
